The question
An R-123 centrifugal chiller with 900 pounds of charge cools an office tower. Under 40 CFR Part 82, above what annual leak rate must it be repaired?
- 20 percent
- 30 percent
- 35 percent
- 10 percentCorrect answer
Why “10 percent” is correct

Why the other answers are wrong
- 20 percent — 20 percent applies to commercial refrigeration, not comfort cooling.
- 30 percent — 30 percent applies to industrial process refrigeration.
- 35 percent — 35 percent is not a leak rate in the current rule.
