About this site
EPA 608 Practice Test is an independent, free site with 450 original practice questions for the EPA Section 608 Technician Certification, each with an explanation and the rule it comes from.
Who makes it
The site is written and maintained independently. It is unofficial: it is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or run on behalf of U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and it is not connected to any EPA-approved certifying organization. Passing a practice test here does not certify anyone. Certification comes only from passing a test given by an approved certifying organization.
There are no accounts and nothing to buy. Your practice progress is saved in your own browser. The privacy policy explains what is counted.
How the questions are written
Every question is original. They are written from public sources only: the regulation itself (40 CFR Part 82, Subpart F), the EPA's Section 608 pages, and the EPA's published list of test topics, which sets what each section covers. No question is taken or reworded from a prep company, certifying organization, app or flashcard set.
Each answer explanation names its source, such as “40 CFR 82.156(a)”, so you can check it against the regulation. Where a topic is trade practice rather than law, such as gauge colors or speeding up recovery, the question sticks to settled, widely taught facts.
The rules change from time to time. If you find an answer that no longer matches the current regulation, it will be corrected.
