Refrigeration · EPA 608 Type II. The correct answer, and the reasoning behind it.
Identifying refrigerants, system components and the state of refrigerant in each.
The question
In an operating R-22 system, what is in the receiver?
- Low-pressure vapor
- High-pressure liquidCorrect answer
- A low-pressure liquid and vapor mix
- High-pressure superheated vapor
Why “High-pressure liquid” is correct
The receiver sits after the condenser and stores the high-pressure liquid that comes out of it. That is why it is a good place to start liquid recovery.
