The question
A 200-pound R-22 comfort-cooling chiller is found leaking above its trigger rate. Unless an exception applies, how long does the owner have to repair the leaks?
- 10 days
- 30 daysCorrect answer
- 120 days
- One year
Why “30 days” is correct
Leaks must be identified and repaired within 30 days of when refrigerant is added to an appliance that exceeds the trigger rate. The 120-day period applies only when an industrial process shutdown is needed.
